Mena Alexandera is an American actor, model and designer. Born on 13 February 1979. After beginning her career as a model, she transitioned into acting after appearing in guest roles on 1990's TV shows like Boy Meets World and High Incident. In 1997, she made her debut as an actor in the film Nowhere. Her roles were in American Beauty, for which she won a BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie brought her to broader attention. Her next appearance was in Loser (2000) in which she starred alongside American Pie actor Jason Biggs. She was later the lead role for the film Sugar & Spice (2002). She had appearances in the independent 2002 drama Spun as well as the 2004 action feature Trauma. She appeared in HBO's dramatic show Six Feet Under. In 2004 she was nominated as an Outstanding Cast member at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, Suvari was featured in several films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film adaptation to The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model on behalf of Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she's also been featured on a number of fashion blogs and magazines like Vogue. She has been a supporter and a defender of The African Medical and Research Foundation, a prestigious organisation that helps provide aid to Africans. In addition, she's involved in charitable organizations that fight breast cancer, as well as End Violence Against Women.
