Mena Alexandra Suvari (born on 13 February 1979) is an American actress fashion designer and model. After 1990, just after starting her career as model, Suvari began acting in TV shows like Boy Meets World. The first time she appeared in film was her performance in 1997's drama Nowhere. Her performances as a character in American Beauty - for which she was nominated to get an award called a BAFTA Award - and American Pie that earned much attention as she stepped into more prominent roles. Her next role was Loser (2000), with American Pie actor Jason Biggs. Then she appeared as the role of the title character on the screen in Sugar & Spice (2002). Spun, an independent drama from 2002 and the thriller movie Trauma (2004) are her two most recent appearances. Also, she starred in HBO drama Six Feet Under. The show was an instant hit in 2004 and in 2005, the Screen Actors Guild honored her as one of the outstanding cast members. She was also cast in Day of the Dead, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, and the film adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a modeling model for Lancome cosmetics as well as print ads of Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured in several magazines and fashion blogs like Vogue. She has supported and been an advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation for many years.
