Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has worked as a journalist for over 45 years focused on human suffering in conflict zones as well as natural disasters. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry was an American journalist, reporter for the TV news and host best recognized as a correspondent on the Today program a morning broadcast news show that aired on NBC. Curry was renowned for the reporting she did on natural catastrophes and war devastated countries. Curry was born in Japan and raised by a Japanese mom. Her father served as an U.S. Navy sailor. When she was 22 she became the first female journalist for the station. She then moved up to anchoring and reporting at KGW, an NBC-affiliated station in Portland. Then she returned into Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. It was during her association with the channel for a period of 6 years that she was awarded two Emmy Awards.
